My inquiry question is "How is the COVID-19 outbreak impacting the urban setting and populations in the downtown Cincinnati area?" During Ohio's stay at home order, the downtown area appeared to be virtually unpopulated. I wanted to show feelings of isolation and the lifeless environment. Selective coloring in the majority of my images is used to further emphasize the loneliness everyone is feeling at this time and what is lacking in our lives. 1st and 10th images are homeless individuals in a park. They are often disregarded and I thought it was crucial to show how this outbreak further isolates them from society. 2nd, 5th, and 8th images are closed commercial businesses. 3rd image is a closed playground in a children's park. 4th image shows unused chairs in front of an apartment building. 6th image is a car that appears to not have a driver. 7th image is an empty stadium with one individual on the field. 9th image shows empty park benches. The coloring the in first eight images may suggest some sort of hope for improvement, but the lack of color in the last two images shows the situation taking a turn for the worse, leading to total isolation.
